June 14 (tuscany) - June 15 (vernazza)

the timeline and itinerary you are about to see doesn’t make any sense - trust me when I say it’s simply best not to think about it.

June 14: after leaving my tranquil airbnb in Cannes to walk to the train station things quickly became more chaotic. the thing is, when you don’t do any real research about things and just decide to wing it, you are occasionally taken by surprise. as it turns out Italian transport is often totally insane! didn’t know that before! definitely know it now though. after several trains being delayed, cancelled, me panicking at a train station and accidentally getting on a train going in the wrong direction, getting off at a random stop that turned out to be in the middle of nowhere at a station that used to have a full terminal but had been closed down, sobbing, snot running down my face and without any water, contemplating trying to figure out how to simply get a very expensive taxi, I somehow made it to my airbnb with ingredients for dinner.

Vernazza, along the Cinque Terre, in Genoa, Italy.

June 16 (roma)

left Pisa bright and early to head to Roma where I was staying just for a night. (no need to point out that hoping off to someplace new every single night is a ridiculous theme to have, trust me, I am aware.)

and then I was immediately smitten with Roma; the colourful apartment buildings, the flower lined streets, the lush trees providing shade everywhere.

June 17-19 (ischia)

Ischia is an absolutely magical island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. my accommodations had a stunning view, were a ten minute walk away from the beach and also at the beginning of the driveway happened to have a gelateria.

ontemplating trying to figure out how to simply get a very expensive taxi, I somehow made it to my airbnb with ingredients for dinner.
